New Delhi: National carrier Air India on Wednesday offered special discounted all-inclusive fares starting at Rs 3,500 on its domestic network to students travelling for academic purposes for a limited period.
Under the scheme, Air India has offered a ticket price of Rs 3,500 inclusive of taxes for a journey up to 1000 km and at Rs 5,500 (all inclusive) for a distance over 1000 km, according to a release.
"Students travelling for various academic reasons like proceeding to join their school, college or to give entrance exam would benefit from this special offer," it said.
The booking of tickets under the offer commences from Wednesday and will remain open till July 31 while the journey period stands between July 1 and August 31, Air India said.
Last week, budget carrier GoAir had also offered concession in both airfares and baggage allowance to students appearing for exams or are returning back and changing cities to join new colleges and schools.
The additional baggage allowance of 10 kg, in addition to 15 kgs already allowed, would make it easier for them to pack more requirements without extra cost, GoAir had said.
