Adivaraha Swamy, A real estate god

KARIMNAGAR: Chilkur Balaji (Lord Venkateswara) is popularly known as Visa God.If any student or professional who wants to go abroad, worships Balaji, the Lord will certainly help him in getting visa, according to a popular belief. Like the Visa God, there is Lord Adivaraha Swamy at Kamanpur, who is known as Real Estate God.According to a belief, if realtors and granite quarry owners worship the Lord, Adivaraha Swamy will bless them with flourishing business. The Adivaraha Swamy temple of Kamanpur is about 50 km from the district headquarters.Kamanpur is located on the way to Kaleshwaram, which is famous for the historical Kaleshwara Mukteswara Swamy temple. Realtors and granite quarry owners seek the blessings of Adivaraha Swamy before launching their business ventures.According to the temple priest Jagannatha Charyulu, Lord Vishnu incarnated Himself as Adivaraha Swamy on a big rock here about six centuries ago.Initially, the idol appeared like a rat. Gradually, the idol grew up to 2.5 feet in height. The Lord is in the form of Varaham. The idol is in the open and it does not have any structure.  Though some devotees who flourished in real estate and granite businesses, planned to build a temple for the Lord, the construction material was washed away in rain.From then onwards, no devotee has dared to construct a temple for the Lord.Karimnagar MLA G Kamalakar, who is into granite business, is an ardent devotee to Adivaraha Swamy. Gopal Reddy, a realtor, said he sought the blessings of Adivaraha Swamy before starting his business. Now, his real estate business is thriving with several new ventures, he said. Devotees visit the Kamanpur temple from several parts of the state.
