AAP MP Swati Maliwal Tells Cops Kejriwal Gave Directions To Close Aide Bibhav To Assault Her; BJP Says 'Don't Forget...'

Swati Maliwal, Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Delhi Commission for Women chairperson, on Monday alleged that Arvind Kejriwal’s close aide Bibhav Kumar assaulted her on the directions of the Chief Minister, sources told CNN-News18.

Two PCR calls were made by Maliwal from Delhi CM’s residence, police informed, stating that the first call came at around 9:34 am. It was further mentioned that Maliwal came to the police station and said that she will file a complaint later in the matter.

“Lady caller is saying that I am at CM residence. He instructed his PA to assault me,” police register entry accessed by CNN-News18 read.

Who is Bibhav Kumar, Kejriwal’s Personnel Secretary?

Notably, Bibhav Kumar recently made the headlines after the Delhi Vigilance Department sacked him from the position of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s personal secretary, citing “illegal appointment.”

Bibhav Kumar was sacked in connection to a 2007 case against him for ‘assault and use of criminal force to obstruct a public servant from doing his duty’.

Meanwhile, in February, Bibhav was also summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the Delhi excise policy case.

BJP Hits Out At AAP

Hitting out at AAP over Maliwal’s assault allegation, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrashekar attacked AAP for assaulting women MPs and said, “Dont forget this is same Kejriwal who also assaulted the Chief Secretary IAS officer.”

BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya pointed out that Maliwal maintained silence on party supremo Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest and was not even in India back then.

“AAP RS MP and former DCW chief Swati Maliwal alleges that Delhi CM’s PA assaulted her. Call made from Delhi CM’s House. Remember, Swati Maliwal had maintained radio silence on Kejriwal’s arrest. She was in fact not even in India at that time and didn’t return for a long time,” Malviya wrote on X.

Taking to X, ex-BJP Delhi president Vijender Gupta wrote, “AAP MP from Rajya Sabha and former DCW Chief, Swati Maliwal, has been physically assaulted by out on bail CM Arvind Kejriwal’s PA at CMO. Anyone who has followed Kejriwal’s politics knows that he has done with many of his colleagues who he dared to differ with him. He is a dictator and a megalomaniac.”

BJP leader Kapil Mishra also took to X and attacked the AAP asking them to issue a clarification on the matter. “Did Kejriwal’s PA Bibhav beat up Swati Maliwal? Will the Chief Minister’s office give any clarification? May God grant that the news of beating of a female Rajya Sabha MP in the Chief Minister’s house is false,” he said.
