Even after a complaint was lodged about a kidnapping incident three years ago, Erode Town Police are yet to file a charge sheet in the case.
Informed sources said that the case pertained to the alleged kidnap of one Srinivasan, the husband of a woman police constable Valli, by DMK Town deputy secretary Chandrasekar.
She filed a complaint at the station about the alleged kidnap on July 18, 2010.
Srinivasan had invested some money to run IMFL shops in a deal with Chandrasekaran and it led to a dispute between them. Later, Valli said her husband lost nearly `15 lakh, including a small house at Karungalpalayam, deposits made for the IMFL shops and 10 sovereign jewels, in the deal.
The station registered a man missing case and then the then SP Jayachandran ordered the Surampatti Inspector Sivakumar to inquire into the case. But, the police found Srinivasan 23 days after he went missing and produced him before the High Court where Valli had filed a habeas corpus petition.
Chandrasekaran and another woman secured anticipatory bail and the case was still pending in the court. Though eight hearings were held in the case, no chargesheet was filed. Every time the case came up, the police sought adjournment though SI Selladurai was specially posted in the station to deal the case. The case is likely to come up on Tuesday.
