THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The ‘108’ ambulance workers were felicitated for their exemplary service at a function held in the city organised by the St Mary’s Queen of Peace Basilica on Saturday. Speaking at the function, Baselios Cleemis, Major Archbishop of the Syro Malankara Church, said the selfless service of the ‘108’ ambulance workers is often overlooked. He said that the workers were committed in their work and that they often delivered their duty not caring about any recognition they received. Giving away the mementos to the workers, he said that through their service, they teach value of life to the society. Inaugurating the function, K Muraleedharan MLA said the selfless service of the workers has helped save many lives. After the ‘108’ ambulance service was started, it helped in as many as 42,000 cases. Biju Prabhakar, Managing Director, Kerala Medical Services Corporation, said that the felicitation would be an encouragement for the team to continue their services despite all odds.
