Ram Pothineni Opens Up On The Body Double ‘Goof Up’ In Skanda
Boyapati Sreenu has not just donned the director’s cap in the film but also stepped into Ram’s shoes as a body double.

Ram Pothineni’s dry spell at the box office has continued with his most recent offering Skanda. His previous film The Warrior was a huge failure at the box office and Boyapati Sreenu’s Skanda, although faring better than The Warrior, still underperformed. Recently Skanda, after finishing its theatrical run, started streaming on Disney+Hotstar on November 1. It has been better received on OTT and is said to have created a record viewership for 24 hours on the platform.

However, the thing with OTT releases is that they reach a wider audience who can pause or rewind at will and small goof-ups in filmmaking come to notice. And eagle-eyed viewers have noticed one such goof-up in Skanda after it came to OTT.

Apparently, director Boyapati Sreenu has not just donned the director’s cap in the film but also stepped into Ram’s shoes as a body double in an action scene. Body doubles are frequently utilised for action sequences and high-risk photography. However, as of late, this tendency has shifted, with the majority of heroes employing body doubles for everyday sequences that do not require close-ups. Now the scene where Boyapati Sreenu is very clearly seen as a body double for Ram in Skanda is going viral. People on the internet are making jokes about how the crew might have overlooked an editing error during the pivotal scene.

In the midst of the trolling, Ram Pothineni has now made a tweet, explaining why the director had to step into his shoes. Sharing a photo of his blistered foot from the day the scene was shot, he said that he could not even walk properly and when his feet started to bleed, he had to go away from the sets.

The director wanted the shot to be taken right and hence he filled in for Ram Pothineni himself. He also added that he thanked Boyapati for doing this particular shot himself and as for the trolling, he said that liking or disliking content for the audience’s choice and he respected that.
