Coming from the Uber Driver Map
Open up Uber Driver. The app on your device is black and says Uber on it, and even has a right-pointing arrow beneath it.
Leave yourself offline - especially in areas where there's a possibility to get a ride request. You don't need to be online to thank these riders with this system. If you are online, make sure to complete your given rides and turn yourself off.
Get to the page which will provide you access to the button. Tap your totals box that will list either your totals from Today" or "Last Ride/Delivery" or the all-caps "Uber Pro". Focus your app on Last Ride/Delivery. You may have to scroll the boxes to the left to retrieve the last-most selection. Tap the "See Earnings Activity" link. If you see "View Weekly Summary" or "See Progress", you are not on the right boxes from this area. Locate which rides gave you tips that you'd like to thank the rider for. Riders who sent digital tips will be denoted by green and white circular checkboxes to the left edge of the ride's information column. Tap the ride to send the thank you.
Locate and tap the all-caps "Send Rider Thanks" button. You can find this button just below the Trip Earnings amount and total points earned from Uber Pro, and just above the Duration and Distance traveled. If you see your Trip Type, Time Requested and Date, you are looking way too far down the page.
Wait for the button to say in all-caps "Thanks Sent". This message acknowledges confirmation of your thank you notification being sent. Riders will receive a push notification on their device saying that you thank them for the tip.
Tap the left-pointing arrow in the top left corner of the Trip Details screen to go back out and thank all others (if necessary).
Coming from the Push Notification
Wait for the notification you'll get when a tip has been received. When a tip has been received, look for the notification from Uber Driver saying "You received a tip!" Note that sometimes, this feature may not work properly. Sometimes tip notifications aren't sent via notification.
Tap the notification. This will open your app right up, so you can view this trips' details in the Trip Detail page and will await your need to send a thank you.
