After the hassle of baking, the last thing you want is for your delicious bread to go to waste! If you allow your oopsie bread to cool and place it in the right kind of container, you can store it in either a refrigerator or a freezer and enjoy it for days or months to come.
Refrigerating Your Oopsie Bread

Let the bread cool. Once your oopsie bread comes out of the oven, let it cool completely on a wire rack. You can store your bread on the counter for up to a day. Make sure the bread is cool to the touch before moving on. If you try to store warm bread in a bag, it could end up excessively moist and sticky.

Put the bread in an open container. Once your bread has cooled completely, it’s time to place it in a proper container. A Ziplock bag left slightly open is a great storage option. The slight opening lets out any excess moisture and will stop the oopsie bread from becoming a mushy mess. A tupperware with the lid slightly askew is a great alternative to a Ziplock bag.

Separate the oopsies with parchment paper. If you have multiple oopsies to store, place a piece of parchment paper or paper towel between them in the bag or tupperware so they don’t stick together. That way when you want to pull one out for lunch, you don’t have to go to the trouble of wrestling them apart.

Keep the bread in the refrigerator for up to one week. You can store your oopsie bread in a plastic bag in the refrigerator for up to a week. If you made a large amount or are unable to eat all the bread within a week, you might want to try freezing the extras.
Freezing Extra Oopsie Bread

Let it sit until it's cool. Your oopsie bread must be completely cool to the touch before you can even think about freezing it. If you try to freeze the bread with excess moisture, it will be a gooey mess when you thaw it. Let the bread sit on a wire rack and cool all the way through. You can leave your oopsie bread out on the counter for up to a day. Not only will this ensure that it cools all the way, but you’ll easily be able to munch on it when you walk by!

Put your bread in freezer bags. Transfer your oopsie bread from its cooling rack to a freezer bag. If you don’t have a freezer bag on hand, use two regular Ziplock bags to give the bread extra protection from freezer burn. Make sure the bag is tightly sealed so that no outside air can get in and ruin your goodies.

Make sure your oopsies aren’t touching. If you have more than one oopsie in a bag, stick a paper towel or piece of parchment paper between them to prevent them from sticking. This is an important step, unless you prefer a frozen oopsie stack!

Move the bread into the freezer. Once your bread is tight and snug in a freezer-appropriate bag, it’s time to put it in the freezer. When you’re ready to eat some oopsie bread, simply take it out of the freezer and freezer bag and let it thaw on the counter. If you prefer crispier bread, try reheating your oopsies in the toaster on low heat. This will get rid of any extra moisture that snuck its way in.
