This wikiHow will teach you how to change the device name on your iPhone and iPad. This will be the phone name that appears when you share a Wi-Fi hotspot or connect via Bluetooth.
Open Settings iPhone Settings App Icon. It's the gray app with gears located on your home screen.
Tap General iPhone Settings General Icon. It's next to the icon with one large gear.
Tap About. It's the first option at the top of the page.
Tap Name. It's the first option at the top.
Tap ⓧ to remove the old name. It's the small gray circle with an "X" in it. This will delete the old name and allow you to rename your device.
Enter a new name. Type the new name with the keyboard and then tap the Done key when you are finished. The name of your device is now changed. You can now back out of the settings menu, or press the Home button to return to your home screen.
