Lucknow: Bottom-placed Dabang Mumbai gear up to clash against Uttar Pradesh Wizards in the Hockey India League (HIL) at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium on Sunday.
Currently sitting third in the standings with 25 points, UP defeated Mumbai 5-1 when they last met at the latter's home turf. While the Wizards will look to climb up the ladder, Mumbai will strive to win and try their best to finish the top-4 and qualify for the semis.
With Ramandeep Singh in top form, UP's attack has strengthened with V.R. Raghunath converting penalty corners.
"I am happy to see the team's performance and the fact that the boys understand the importance of winning against Dabang Mumbai as well. This will be the second time we face Dabang Mumbai and just like the result in the previous match, we look forward to delivering similar results in tomorrow's match," UP head coach Roelant Oltmans said.
On the other hand, having lost to Kalinga Lancers on Friday, Mumbai will look at coming back stronger. They will try to get thier coordination right and score off penalty corners.
"The team will play for a win. We are confident as a unit and we will not repeat the same mistakes. We will put pressure on them by playing an attacking game and try to get the penalty corners," Mumbai forward Glenn Turner said.
