Tevez slams strange situation at City
Tevez has been searching for Eastlands exit since September.

Manchester: Carlos Tevez has expressed his frustration at his transfer situation and has claimed that Manchester City rejected offers from Inter, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain during the January transfer window.

Tevez has been searching for Eastlands exit since September, following his alleged refusal to come on as a substitute against Bayern Munich, while the player has been in exile in his native Argentina since November.

The striker insisted that he wanted to take up one of the offers made but that City blocked a potential move, with Tevez describing how "something always wasn't right" with the deals on the table.

"The situation is very strange for me," Tevez told Kicker.

"I wanted to go and had offers from other leagues, from Spain and Italy. But it did not work out in the end because City did not accept any of the offers.

"There were offers from [AC] Milan, Inter and PSG. But something always wasn't right."

Tevez went on to predict that he could move away from Europe and back to South America in Brazil or Argentina, but added that he was beginning to doubt whether City would allow him to leave the club on loan.

"If all regularities are right and the clubs agree a transfer with City, I can see myself going there, even on loan," he said.

"But after all that has happened with Milan or Inter, I don't know if City wants me to leave on loan.

"If the rules allow it and City agree then that could be a possibility, if only as a loan, but I don’t know how Milan or Inter might feel about that.

"In any case, City want a definite transfer. That’s what complicates everything because they have made it clear they want a transfer fee for me."

The former Manchester United forward also felt that the bad image he had developed since being marginalised at City was unfair.

"I cannot understand that but I cannot do much against it," Tevez said. "People may think what they want."

The 27-year-old also discussed reports that Barcelona had opted against a move for him in the transfer window, whilst reiterating his desire to be closer to his family.

"Everyone has to do what works for them. Barcelona are a fantastic club, and La Liga a fabulous championship. But what happened, happened.

"There’s also a personal aspect to all this. I wanted to be closer to my family, above all my children who are and were in Argentina. And because I couldn’t play any longer at City I took control of the situation myself."

The former West Ham man turns 28 on Sunday, and despite having already not played first-team football for over four months, and looking likely to not play until the summer, Tevez is confident he can be just as successful on the field as he has been previously

"Coming back to playing again will not be easy but I am physically strong. I understand what’s needed and will do it. The worst thing is actually all the uncertainty, not knowing how things will work out."
