Real Madrid defender Raul Albiol is on the verge of joining Napoli as reported by Spanish newspaper El Pais.
The former Liverpool and Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez has joined Napoli and believed to have used his Spain connection to secure the deal. Benitez knows Albioal well during the former's stint at Valencia and reportedly the defender is keen to join the Serie A side.
Most likely the deal will be finalised close to the fee of £10 million mark. At Real Madrid Albiol has spent most of his time on the bench and his prospects of first team has declined further with Rapahel Varane getting prominence.
The deal will hardly affect Napoli's transfer budget as they will have much to spare from Edinson Cavani's £55 million sale.
