The Brazilian right-back’s former partner Ingrid Lima gave birth to a baby girl, Maite, on October 8. In honour of the newborn, Tobias inked 'Maite, I love you' onto his arm. A couple of weeks later, Lima confirmed that Tobias is not the biological father of Maite.

Former Real Madrid player Vinicius Tobias got his baby’s name inked only to find out he’s not the biological father. The Brazilian right-back’s ex-wife Ingrid Lima gave birth to a baby girl on October 8. In honour of the newborn, Maite, Tobias got the words– “Maite, I love you”– tattooed onto his arm. Weeks after the birth of her daughter, Lima has now confirmed that Tobias is not the biological father of Maite. “We decided to do a DNA test, and Maite is not Vinicius’ daughter,” she said, as per The Daily Mail.

Lima, a social media influencer, revealed that she had an on-off relationship with Vinicius Tobias. Speaking about the recent development, she said, “I came to give a statement about something that is getting annoying and that, unfortunately, I would have to come out publicly to give you an explanation.”

Lima further revealed that she and Tobias had already moved on from their past relationship when Maite was born. “Vinicius and I haven’t been together for a while. During that time, I was in a relationship with someone and so was he. We both moved on with our lives. In the meantime, Maite came along,” she explained.

Tobias has yet to share his thoughts on the current situation. He hasn’t commented anything about the DNA test publicly. Lima has also refrained from revealing Maite’s real biological father’s name.

Tobias rose to prominence after putting up some impressive performances in the U15 South American Championships in 2019. The 20-year-old Brazilian even scored in the final against their arch-rivals Argentina. His immense talent led several fans to compare him with country legend and former Barcelona star Dani Alves.

Tobias attracted offers from several European powerhouses including Bayern Munich, Juventus, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. Shakhtar Donetsk, however, won the race and signed him for £6 million. He was later acquired by Real Madrid on loan in 2022.

Tobias spent two years in the Spanish capital and got to represent the Los Blancos in just one game. He returned to Shakhtar ahead of the 2024-25 season. He already played five games in the current campaign.
