England zero in on Capello after Mourinho pull-out
Capello has had an impressive career with Juventus, Milan and Madrid.

New Delhi: The English Football Association has confirmed that it is in talks with Fabio Capello to possibly take up the job of England's manager.

If the talks succeed, then Capello could be announced as the new England coach as early as next week.

Capello has had an impressive career, winning nine titles and coaching teams like Juventus, AC Milan and Real Madrid.

The FA had been searching for a new coach since Steve McClaren was sacked after England's failure to qualify for the Euro 2008.

Other leading candidates are reported to be Marcello Lippi, who led Italy to the World Cup win last year, Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill and and former German manager Juergen Klinsmann.
