Parma: Hernan Crespo has announced his departure from Parma, with the striker being tipped to complete a move to India within the next two weeks.
In an emotional press conference on Thursday, the 36-year-old explained his decision to terminate his contract at the Ennio Tardini, but reiterated his love for the Serie A club, where he enjoyed great success in his career.
"It's hard for me because I leave Parma while having played at a high level for 19 years. I owe it all to the supporters and Parma," Crespo said.
"I have kept my promise in finishing my top-level career here. [Leaving] was not an easy decision, but now I want to have fun. I will return to Parma one day. Parma are in my heart."
However, despite reports claiming a move to Indian Premier Soccer League outfit Barasat has been finalised, Crespo played down the suggestions and insisted he is still mulling over the whereabouts of his next destination.
"I want to clarify that at this time, there are other options. [My agent and I have] discussed the Indian proposal, but nothing is concrete just yet," the Argentine said.
"I want to listen to various offers and then take one."
Crespo has enjoyed a hugely successful 16-year career in Europe since leaving River Plate in 1996, winning silverware with the likes of Parma, Inter and AC Milan.
