London: Arsenal flop striker Marouane Chamakh looks set to leave the club this summer with Spain being the most likely destination according to reports in England and Spain. The Moroccan forward signed from the club from Bordeaux on a free transfer in 2010 and started his Arsenal career in fantastic form.
But the goals soon began to dry up and Chamakh has been out of form since then. Arsenal are keen to sell Chamakh as he continues to command a £65,000 a week salary. The Gunners are keen to make space in their squad as they look to bring in attacking reinforcements this summer.
The club are expected to confirm the signing of Real Madrid's Gonzalo Higuain next week while they still haven't ruled out the possibility of pairing him with Manchester United's Wayne Rooney, despite the Premier League champions declaring that he is not for sale.
La Liga side Levante are thought to be ready to offer 1 million pounds for Chamakh.
