London: Roma are set to sign Gervinho from Arsenal after the Serie A club submitted an improved bid of £7million for the Ivory Coast international, reports the Daily Star.
The Gunners reportedly rejected a £6m offer from Roma but have now accepted a better offer from the Italian club.
New Roma coach Rudi Garcia wants a reunion with the forward who he knows well from their time spent at French side Lille.
And the Daily Star reports an Italian source as saying: "Garcia has made Gervinho his top choice.
"He knows only too well of his capabilities and that is why Roma will pay a higher price."
It is understood that personal terms have already been agreed between the 26-year-old and Roma.
Gervinho has been a disappointment at the North London club with just nine Premier League goals since his £11m transfer from Lille in 2011.
The player, who had previously said he wanted to remain at the Emirates for the new season, has now been told to find a new club after he was left at home by Arsene Wenger during the club's recent pre-season tour.
