In Murshidabad, West Bengal, a remarkable 16-year-old named Sunil Halder is bravely pursuing his dreams amidst financial challenges. As a Class 10 student appearing for the Madhyamik Class 10 board exams, Sunil is not only focused on his education but is also shouldering the responsibility of sponsoring it, given his family’s financial struggles.
Residing in the Baharampur Gandhi Colony area, Sunil has taken on the role of a corn and papaya vendor to support himself and his education. His parents, facing financial difficulties, are unable to meet the ends, prompting Sunil to take charge of his schooling expenses. Despite the challenges, he has remained dedicated to his studies at Baharampur Bapuji Pathaga High School and recently appeared for the first major exam of his academic journey.
The Madhyamik board exams commenced on February 2, marking a significant moment for Sunil. However, his responsibilities extend beyond academics as he runs a corn shop to contribute to his family’s income. Living with his parents, sister, and grandfather, Sunil’s family actively participates in the mini business which sustains their household.
Sunil, not content with just securing a government job after completing his studies, aspires to become a successful businessman. His dreams are not only personal but extend to supporting and standing by his parents in their times of need.
Navigating through the challenges, Sunil independently manages everything from private tuition to purchasing books for his education. The remaining funds, after covering educational expenses, are contributed to the household by supporting his mother with the daily running expenses. Sunil has been selling corn for about four years, offering maize, paddy nuts, and tea in the vicinity of Barrack Square Maidan in Baharampur. Despite the demands of his corn-selling business in the evening, he dedicates his days to focused study, showcasing a commendable commitment to his education and dreams.
