Chandrashekhar Azad, the national president of the Azad Samaj Party emerged victorious in the Lok Sabha elections from Nagina constituency, Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh. To celebrate his victory, the local DM (District Magistrate) Ankit Kumar Agarwal, presented him with a certificate. The images of the two are now going viral online, making the netizens curious about Ankit Kumar Agrawal.
Ankit Kumar Agrawal is an IAS, who originally hails from the state of Bihar. He is an ex-engineering student, who chose to venture into civil services. After preparing for the UPSC CSE, he cracked the test in 2012. In 2013, his first training happened in Farrukhabad, UP.
After that, Ankit Agrawal worked as a joint magistrate in the district, from August 2014 to September 2015. Then till April 2016, he was the joint magistrate of Lakhimpur Kheri. In April 2016, he was posted as the CDO (Chief Development Officer) of Muzaffarnagar, till March 2018.
He was given the post of Special Secretary from March 2018 to February 2019, in the UP Secretariat. By February 2019, he was appointed the DM of Sonbhadra. However, he held the post for 6 months only, as he was put on the waiting list. Then in August 2019, he was posted as the Special Secretary in the secretariat, which he held for almost a year.
In August 2020, he was given the post of VC (Vice Chairman) of Prayagraj Development Authority, where he worked till June 2021. After that he was appointed as the DM of Etah; he held the post for the next two years, till September 2023. Ankit Agrawal was then transferred to Bijnor, where he is currently posted as the DM since September, last year.
Ankit Agrawal recently made headlines after he gave a victory certificate to politician Chandrashekhar Azad, and an image of the two was posted online. The photo shows the two standing amid a big crowd, which looks to be a celebratory atmosphere. IAS Ankit is seen handing over the certificate to Azad, as both pose for the camera.
