Mumbai Indians are set to host Sunrisers Hyderabad in an important Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 fixture on Monday.
Ahead of the highly anticipated clash, players of both teams found some time to catch up at the Wankhede Stadium.
In a video shared by MI on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), members of the home team can be seen chilling out with their rivals on the field.
SRH Hyderabad players could be seen bonding with their opponents.
Former MI skipper Rohit Sharma was seen greeting Hyderabad leg-spinner Mayank Markande.
Mahela Jayawardene, who currently serves as the global head of performance for MI, was present on the ground to oversee the team’s practice session. The former Sri Lanka skipper was also spotted speaking with another legend of his country Muttiah Muralitharan, who is the bowling coach of the Hyderabad-based franchise.

The MI fixture marks a crucial assignment for SRH, who are hoping to secure a playoff spot in this IPL season.
Under the captaincy of Pat Cummins, the team has shown their dominance on several occasions this year. Having notched up six victories in ten matches, SRH currently occupy the fourth spot in the IPL 2024 standings.

After losing to Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings, SRH returned to winning ways in their last game against Rajasthan Royals. It turned out to be a nail-biting affair at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
Batting first, the hosts posted 201 runs in 20 overs.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave SRH an excellent start by dismissing Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson in the very first over. RR were brought back to the contest by Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag, who stitched a 133-run partnership. Shimron Hetmyer and Rovman Powell chipped in with quickfire cameos late in the innings. Their efforts ultimately went in vain as Rajasthan fell one run short of the target.
Meanwhile, MI are going into the home game against Sunrisers Hyderabad on the back of four consecutive defeats. The Hardik Pandya-led side has won three matches so far this season. With six points under their belt, the five-time champions are placed at the bottom of the table.
