Legendary India captain MS Dhoni is celebrating his 43rd birthday today. The two-time world cup winning skipper is one of the greatest cricketers to have represented India across formats.
A clip of Dhoni cutting the cake has been shared by his wife Sakshi on Instagram which has drawn comments from the likes of actor Ranveer Singh and former India cricketer Kedar Jadhav.

Dhoni, who retired from international cricket in 2020, continues to represent Chennai Super Kings in IPL. He famously led them to a record-equaling fifth title last season and stepped down from captaincy before the start of IPL 2024.

There are speculations that Dhoni may have played his last IPL match but there hasn’t been any official word from neither the man himself nor from CSK.
CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan had in May revealed that only Dhoni knows if he will continue playing IPL next season.
“It is a question which only MS can answer. The question for us, we have always respected the decisions taken by MS, we have left it to him,” Viswanathan had said in a video shared by CSK on YouTube.
“As all of you know, he has always taken his decisions and announced it at the appropriate time. We do expect that we will get a decision as and when he decides. But we are very, very hopeful that he will be available for CSK the next year. That is the view and expectations of the fans and mine,” he added.
Dhoni recently congratulated the Indian team for their victorious campaign at the 2024 T20 World Cup. In a post on Instagram, he thanked Rohit and Co for the ‘priceless birthday gift’.
“WORLD CUP CHAMPIONS 2024.My heart rate was up, well done on being calm, having the self belief and doing what u guys did. From all the Indians back home and everywhere in the world a big thank you for bringing the World Cup Home. CONGRATULATIONS. arreeee thanks for the priceless birthday gift,” he wrote.
