Watch: Arshdeep Singh Completes an Impressive Catch During Punjab Kings' Training Session
Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh pulled off a superb running catch during a training session with Punjab Kings.

Punjab Kings fast bowler Arshdeep Singh pulled off a brilliant catch in training ahead of their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

PBKS are currently preparing to face LSG at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

PBKS have shared a clip of that session on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). In the video, Arshdeep can be seen making a long sprint as he completes a jaw-dropping catch while running towards the boundary.

After getting a hold of it, Arshdeep tossed the ball in the air before crossing the boundary rope and then completed the catch as he returned to the playing area.

Arshdeep is one of the rising stars in Indian cricket. The pacer featured in his first IPL season with PBKS in 2019 where he appeared in just three matches.

He was retained by the franchise ahead of the IPL 2020 auction.

His career-best IPL season came in 2021 when he scalped 18 wickets in just 12 games. He boasted an average of 19 and an economy of 8.27 that season.

He was crucial for the PBKS last year, claiming 17 wickets in 14 games. In the ongoing campaign, Arshdeep has taken two wickets in as many matches.

Apart from being the star pacer in the PBKS squad, Arshdeep has also proven to be a leader. Australian pacer Nathan Ellis recently talked about the several learnings he has had from Arshdeep in the PBKS squad.

“I have had some really good conversations with Arshdeep Singh about death bowling. He is someone who seems good at moving on, which is such a huge asset as a death bowler. It’s just the enjoyment of life that I think I have learned the best from the Punjab setup,” Ellis said.

Ellis and Arshdeep have formed a fine death-bowling partnership at PBKS since last season. It remains to be seen how impactful they are for the franchise in 2024.

The Shikhar Dhawan-led PBKS are currently in fifth place on the table. They won their opening game against Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals before losing their next match to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru by four wickets.
