The demolition job began in the final delivery of what was Delhi’s first over of the second innings itself. Dhapola bowled Delhi opener Arpit Rana for a six-ball duck and then got rid of Under-19 World Cup winning captain Yash Dhull for a golden duck with the first delivery of his second over,
The 33-year-old completed his hat-trick with the scalp of Kshitiz Sharma who was bowled for a golden duck.
In Delhi’s first innings, he had taken 2/31 from two overs to bowl them out for 147 in 49.2 overs.
Dhapola’s latest exploit has come just a few days after he he ran through Puducherry’s batting order to take 6/32 from 11 overs including a hat-trick at the Abhimanyu Cricket Academy in Dehradun. However, despite his terrific show with the ball, Uttarakhand had to endure a defeat.
Dhapola came into the limelight when he took a sensational 6/13 on his Ranji Trophy debut during the 2018-19 season. Incidentally, it was also Uttarakhand’s first ever first-class match as they took on Bihar.
Thanks to their paceman, Uttarakhand ended up bowling out their opponents for just 60 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Dehradun.
Dhapola again hit the headlines during the 2022-23 Ranji Trophy season when he took an eight-wicket haul against Himachal Pradesh with the hosts being shot out for a mere 49. He finished with figures of 8/35 from 8.3 overs.
His performance was also noted by BCCI secretary Jay Shah who lauded him for the effort.
