'SRH Only After Records, Crazy Hitting!': Tendulkar, Warner and Pathan Brothers React as Sunrisers Hyderabad's Record Show Stuns Legends
Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru after putting up a staggering score of 287 runs in 20 overs.

Sunrisers Hyderabad hammered a mammoth 287/3 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru to break their own record of the highest team total IPL history.  Overall, it’s the second-highest team total in the history of T20 cricket.

Thanks to the outstanding performances from Travis Head and Heinrich Klaasen, the Pat Cummins-led team has managed to steer clear of the bottom ranks, finding themselves in a favourable position on the points table.

Travis Head emerged as the star of the show, blasting his way to an impressive 102 runs, followed by Heinrich Klaasen, who also contributed a fiery 67 runs off 21 balls. RCB responded in kind and, accumulating 262/7 in their chase even though they fell short.

The boundary-laden outing drew reactions from several former cricketers.

Sachin Tendulkar took to X and praised the performances by both the teams in reference to the highest aggregate score of 549 runs made in last contest match.

“What an incredible display of power hitting by both @SunRisers and @RCBTweets. 549 runs scored in 40 overs today! Who wants to be a bowler? #RCBvSRH #IPL2024,” he wrote.

Yusuf Pathan heaped high praise on SRH for their strong batting strength.

“#SRH has been amazing with the bat this season, making record totals! A team once known for defending low scores is now setting huge ones. Congrats, SRH team! #RCBvSRH,” he tweeted.

Former SRH coach Tom Moody also reacted to the team’s victory while praising Head’s brutal game. “Travis Head playing a game that’s hard to match – brutal, brave and incredibly skilful. #RCBvSRH,” he wrote on X.

Delhi Capitals opener David Warner, himself a former SRH captain, took to Instagram and shared a series of posts, celebrating SRH’s performance.

Warner was full of praise for Head.

Irfan Pathan praised the players individually.

He wrote, “Sunrisers Hyderabad are only after the records this season. Crazy hitting. Solid from openers. Klassen continued that momentum, Samad and Makaram finished the inning on similar note. #RCBvsSRH.”

SRH have managed to turn the tables this year. They have so far won four of their first six matches, standing in the fourth spot on the IPL 2024 points table.
