The electrifying clash between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Mumbai Indians (MI) witnessed a bizarre incident that left pacer Harshal Patel fuming. The visitors had a great outing on Thursday in Mullanpur as they piled up 192/7 in 20 overs. Suryakumar Yadav fired a 53-ball 78 while the likes of Rohit Sharma and Tilak Varma made notable contributions. But it was the final over of MI’s innings that saw a little drama unfolding as Patel bowled an extra delivery.
After conceding 5 runs and dismissing Tim David in the first three balls, Patel bowled a short ball moving away from the off stump. Tilak Varma heaved it towards deep mid-wicket but ended up hitting the head of the Spider Cam and fell on the no man’s land. Going by the rules, the umpire ruled it out dead, leaving Patel with no choice but to bowl it again which left him frustrated as he vented it out by mincing a few words.

Coming back to yesterday’s game between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians, the fixture proved to be quite a high-octane affair. The match began with Mumbai Indians batting first and posting a mammoth total of 192.
A stellar knock from Suryakumar Yadav spearheaded the massive total. The T20 specialist smashed a 53-ball 78 while belting seven boundaries and three sixes. Harshal Patel was the most impactful bowler for Punjab Kings as he scalped three wickets while giving away 31 runs in his four overs.
During the run chase, Punjab Kings crumbled under pressure as they lost four wickets in just 2.1 overs. Despite the poor start, Punjab Kings came quite close to the target thanks to a couple of heroic knocks from Shahshank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma. Punjab Kings were eventually bundled out for 183 in 19.1 overs. Mumbai Indians pacer Gerald Coetzee and Jasprit Bumrah scalped three wickets each, securing a nine-run victory for their side.
