Sri Lanka named their squad for the upcoming ICC T20I World Cup scheduled to be held in the USA and West Indies on Thursday.
The Lankan Lions, who will be led by Wanindu Hasaranga, will look to emulate their 2014 success at the T20 showpiece when they take the flight to North America.
The Sri Lankan unit will depart for the World Cup on May 14, 2024.

Hasaranga, one of the biggest names in the world of spin in the game, was sidelined from the IPL with a chronic heel issue but has nursed himself back to fitness ahead of the international tournament slated to begin on the 2nd of June.

Pacer Matheesha Pathirana, who plies his trade for defending champions Chennai Super Kings at the money-rich IPL, has been named in the unit as the lead pacer despite the seamer treating a hamstring injury he sustained. The 21-year-old returned to Colombo for his rehabilitation process and has been undergoing.
Left arm pacer Dilshan Madhushanka, who has also been on the recovery trial from a hamstring injury that marred his IPL campaign, was added in the list bound for USA.
Sri Lanka also have the experience of Angelo Matthews and Dasun Shanaka in their ranks while ODI skipper Kushal Mendis and Test skipper Dhananjaya De Silva add further firepower to the unit.
