England cricket captain Ben Stokes recently planned to fly to Disneyland with his wife and two children in the US. Little did he know that the trip plans would end up being more complicated, leaving him stranded all alone at a loose end in Manchester.
The 32-year-old was facing certain trouble with his visa and had to stay back while his family boarded their flight. Despite the unforeseen circumstances, Stokes has been keeping himself engaged by documenting his experience as he waits to get the right visa before joining his family.
The cricketer has also shared hilarious updates on how he has been killing time of late. From walking 22 km from Manchester City centre to Longwood Park and back again to dining in Nandos for the third day in a row before watching Manchester United’s game against Sheffield United at Old Trafford, Stokes continues to entertain his fans through his social media handles.

He began by sharing a picture of the pavement with the caption, “Day 2 of stuck in Manchester waiting for my visa, just gonna walk around,” following which the England skipper continued walking for 22 km.
Later on Wednesday night, he travelled to Old Trafford to watch Manchester United’s win. Seated in the Sir Alex Ferguson stand, he shared a picture of his view with the caption, “Aye Decent.”

Besides sharing updates of his travel spree across Manchester, Stokes also posted pictures of his family at Disneyland, showing his wife and children posing with Mickey Mouse.
Notably, the unfortunate luck came weeks after the 32-year-old was confirmed not to be considered for selection for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Ben Stokes opted out of this year’s T20 World Cup
In a statement by the England Cricket Board, Ben Stokes has opted out of selection for this summer’s Twenty20 World Cup to focus on his bowling fitness.
“I am working hard and focusing on building my bowling fitness back up to fulfil a full role as an all-rounder in all cricket formats,” the England Test captain said in the statement. The ECB further noted that Stokes’ primary focus is to “be completely fit to bowl” ahead of the upcoming Test series against the West Indies and Sri Lanka.
