Yes, you guessed it right. It’s Khatija Rahman, the daughter of singer and music composer AR Rahman.

AR Rahman posted this photo in 2020 on Instagram, featuring his daughter Khatija Rahman and Superstar Rajinikanth. The photo dates back to 1999, taken during the filming of Rajinikanth’s blockbuster movie Padayappa, directed by KS Ravikumar. Padayappa, released in April 1999, emerged as the top-grossing film of that time.

AR Rahman shared a heartwarming picture on Instagram, capturing a sweet moment between his daughter Khatija Rahman and Rajinikanth. The photo depicts Rajinikanth embracing young Khatija from behind as they pose together, with Rajinikanth donned in a white kurta and Khatija in a charming blue dress.

“My little princess @khatija.rahman with Thalaivar…Padayappa 1999, I guess,” AR Rahman captioned the post.

Released in 1999, Padayappa stands as one of Rajinikanth’s iconic films. The movie starred Rajinikanth, Ramya Krishnan, Soundarya, and Sivaji Ganesan in pivotal roles, with the musical score and songs crafted by the renowned AR Rahman.

Recently, AR Rahman, Mohit Chauhan, and Union Minister for Earth Sciences Kiren Rijiju inaugurated the three-day Kathakar Oral Storytelling Festival, curated by writers Shaguna and Prarthana Gahilote.

Reflecting on his origins, Rahman emphasised the importance of sharing personal stories, stating, “If you don’t tell your stories, they’ll go away from you… The world is full of narratives. If people don’t have their narratives, we’ll be taken over. Hate comes when you don’t understand the humanity behind every culture.”

The festival featured diverse participants such as Katy Cawkwell from the UK, Japan’s last Kamishibai storyteller, Spice Arthur 702, Colombian storyteller Ramses Hamir Moctezuma Soler, Jody Edwards from Australia, Marta Maślanka from Poland, and Mongolian throat singer and storyteller D Atarbayan. They shared tales and experiences from their respective countries.

Also, A.R. Rahman has joined the roster of artists represented by the international talent agency William Morris Endeavour (WME). WME, known for managing global stars such as Gal Gadot, Emma Stone, Oprah, and Charlize Theron, has added Rahman to its distinguished list of talents, as reported by Billboard.
