NSE Halts Trading in All Segments Due to Technical Error, 'Links Issue' to Blame

Trading has been halted on NSE across brokers after technical glitches as live price quotes of spot Nifty, Bank Nifty indexes and others failed to update. Brokerage firm Zerodha said: “Trading is halted on NSE across brokers. We are waiting for it to come back online. For equity orders, you can use BSE.”

Meanwhile, the live price quotes of Sensex is operating normally. The live price quotes of all the 11 sector gauges compiled by the NSE are also not updating. The NSE operates through multiple telecom links with two service providers. According to a Mint report, both the telecom service providers have confirmed that there are issues with their links due to which there is an impact on NSE system.

Since 10:15 am, the Nifty 50 index has been stuck at 14,820, 113 points higher from previous day’s close and Nifty Bank remained at 35,626.60, up 1.45 per cent, according to NDTV. The prices of Nifty and Nifty Bank Futures are, however updating.

NSE Nifty was quoting 69.35 points or 0.47 per cent up at 14,777.15 in the opening session today. Axis Bank was the top gainer in the Sensex pack, rising around 2 per cent, followed by Bajaj Finance, SBI, Reliance Industries, ONGC and UltraTech Cement.
