The benchmark Sensex rose by over 93 points in early trade.
Mumbai: The benchmark Sensex extended previous day's gain and rose by over 93 points in early trade on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Tuesday on buying by funds in blue-chip stocks.
The 30-share index, Sensex, which ended with moderate gain on Monday surged by 93.01 points to touch 15,698.84 points in first five minutes of trading as heavy weights like Reliance Ind, ITC, Infosys and Maruti rose significantly.
Similarly, the wide-base National Stock Exchange index, Nifty, rose by 30.75 at 4,538.60 points.
Buying activity spilled over a wide front at all the sectorial indices including mid and small cap rose smartly.
