New Delhi: The CBI has registered a case against former Satyam Chairman Ramalinga Raju, Pricewatehouse auditors and other individuals.
A 16 member team headed by Hyderabad DIG, V Lakshminarayanan will head the probe.
Another 10 investigating officers will soon join the investigation.
CBI will also have direct access to the documents seized by SFIO & SEBI as well as to documents siezed by the state CID.
Network 18 also learns that Dilkusha Guest House on Rajbhavan Road in Hyderabad may be the temporary headquarters for the CBI team probing the case.
The Hyderabad High Court on Thursday directed the state government to provide all the logistical support to CBI.
Meanwhile, Spice Group chairman BK Modi spoke to Network 18 on buying Satyam.
He said he is waiting for the board's decision and will bid for Satyam only if the Satyam board goes for 51 per cent stake sale. He is not sure of acquiring a 20 per cent stake through an open offer. He doesn’t see it as transparent bid at 26 per cent and will not be interested if the bid is not transparent.
The Planning Commission’s Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia says that Indian exporters have been worst hit due economic slowdown and indicated that the pain would continue.
He was speaking at a Labour conference in New Delhi today.
“When you switch from a growth rate of average of 8.6 per cent down to 7 per cent or a little bit lower, it really means that some sectors have been badly hit. It's not that everybody grows just a little bit slowly and I think in our context it is true that the exporters, the exporting sectors are the ones that have actually taken the bulk of the loss,” said Ahluwalia.
