Randeep Hooda opened up about Aishwarya Rai in a new interview and confessed that he did not get a chance to bond on the sets of Sarbjit. The actor, who will be seen in Swatantra Veer Savarkar this weekend, was revisiting his critically acclaimed film when he spoke about Aishwarya. He revealed that owing to the limited scenes he shared with her in the film, they didn’t get to spend many days together. However, he praised her for her work on the sets.
“She was great, very courteous, she does her job well. She’s all there, she’s very sincere about it. Although we didn’t have many interactions on set because a lot of my scenes were away from her, but whenever we did, she was all that she’s made out to be,” Randeep said while speaking with Humans of Bombay. He added, “They tried their best to make her look real, but she’s so unreal.”
Randeep explained that he made a close bond with Sarabjit’s sister over Aishwarya. “While making the movie, more than Aishwarya, I formed a great bond with Sarabjit’s sister. She has passed away now, and her desire was that I come and give fire to her funeral pyre, which I did. I wish I had more time with her, she was a great lady, and she really looked after Sarabjit’s kids. They’re all well settled, I’m in touch with them. That movie had a real-life impact,” he said.
Meanwhile, Randeep Hooda will be seen essaying yet another real life personality this weekend. The actor will be playing the role of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, the Hindu nationalist better known as Veer Savarkar, in his biopic titled Swatantrya Veer Savarkar. The actor is also making his directorial debut with the film. The film releases in theatres on March 22.
