Suchana Seth was arrested on Tuesday from Karnataka for allegedly killing her four-year-old son in a service apartment in Goa.

A day after Suchana Seth, a CEO of the Bengaluru-based start-up, was arrested for allegedly killing her four-year-old son in Goa, the police said that during the investigation it found that the address listed for her company, The Mindful AI Lab, was not a dedicated office for the firm but was a co-working space instead.

In addition to this, it was also revealed that Seth also vacated her apartment in the Thanisandra area of Bengaluru around four months ago, reported Indian Express. “She was living here with her son. We don’t know where she is currently,” a neighbour was quoted as saying.

According to Suchana’s LinkedIn profile, she is the founder and CEO of a start-up named “The Mindful AI Lab”, which was registered in 2020. She was also among the top “100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics for 2021”. Her profile describes her as an AI ethics expert and data scientist with over 12 years of experience.

How Did Suchana Killed Her 4-Year-Old Son?

Revealing details about the murder, Dr Kumar Naik, a government doctor in Karnataka who conducted the post-mortem of the kid said that the accused “smothered” her four-year-old son to death. He further informed that no wounds or signs of struggle were found on the body of the four-year-old. He added that a pillow or a wire is likely to have been used.

“The boy was killed more than 36 hours earlier. He was strangled to death or what we call smothering. It doesn’t look like the child was strangulated using hands. It looks like a pillow or a wire or some other material was used,” the doctor said.

Suchana Attempted Suicide

The police informed that the 39-year-old CEO of a Bengaluru-based startup, Suchana Seth, also attempted to commit suicide after the gruesome act. Seth, who is originally from West Bengal, was arrested by the Goa Police from Chitradurga in Karnataka. The police has been granted custody for six days by a local Goa court.

Meanwhile, her estranged husband, Venkat Raman, was in Indonesia at the time of the alleged murder. He was called to Bengaluru on Tuesday evening for his son’s post-mortem.
