Bengaluru Folks Suspect Leopard Sightings in Whitefield, Internet Quips 'WFH Got Revoked?'
Bengaluru forest officials warn about leopard sightings in Whitefield and internet can't stop finding humour in it.

Bengaluru traffic always makes headlines, but this time it’s not the city’s residents contributing to another classic Bengaluru traffic jam. Instead, a leopard was allegedly spotted in the Whitefield area, and videos of this event have gone viral on the internet, sending ripples of fear through the hearts of locals and forest officials. Yet, Bengalureans, renowned for their resilience, couldn’t resist a bit of tongue-in-cheek humor, suggesting that this leopard, too, might have had its ‘WFH’ privileges revoked, forcing it to join the ranks of the city’s street-dwellers.

The “Whitefield Rising” page posted about the leopard sighting on the X platform (formerly known as Twitter). Other social media posts also claimed that the leopard was seen in Brookfield and Kudlu Gate, near HSR Extension, and it was even spotted near a prominent private school in the area.

While forest officials launched their search operation, cautioning people to stay vigilant and avoid nighttime adventures, Bengalureans indulged in witty banter, speculating about the reasons that drove the leopard into the city. Was it the traffic jams on the main roads, or perhaps the leopard, too, had a job interview or an urgent meeting to attend? The assumptions were as varied as they were amusing.

Social media users joined in on the fun. One user cheekily suggested, “To ChatGPT: Write an email to my manager that I need WFH as there is a Leopard spotted near Whitefield / ITPL area.” Another chimed in, saying, “Hey his work from home was revoked too,” while the third one quipped, “Leopard : Dude I will be here only for 3 working days per week.”

“Tiger attending a walkin interview I guess ..” humourously said the fourth one.

Meanwhile, it’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time a leopard has been sighted in Bengaluru. In February of this year, a leopard ventured into the outskirts of Bengaluru and killed a calf near an agricultural field in Dasanapura, off Tumakuru Road.
