After taking the market by storm with the well-built Speed 400, the premium bike manufacturer Triumph now has dropped another powerful product named Scrambler 400X in India. The motorcycle has been developed in partnership with Bajaj Motor, and has been introduced at the starting price of Rs 2.63 lakh (ex-showroom).
The company has already kick-started the booking for the same. Interested customers either can pre-book the bike by visiting Triumph’s authorized dealership or online through the company’s official website. The Scrambler 400 X is available in three stylish color schemes – Matt Khaki Green with Fusion White combination, Carnival Red with a sweet touch of Phantom Black, and Phantom Black with Silver Ice accents.
Recently, we were invited by Triumph Motorcycles & Bajaj Auto for the media ride of Scrambler 400X in Maharashtra. And guess what, we rode this feature-loaded masterpiece for somewhere between 200 km to 250 km on every terrain, and will be sharing how we felt after riding this bike at the end of this detailed article.
Triumph Scrambler 400 X Design
Talking about the fit and finish first. Undoubtly, the newly launched Scrambler 400X comes sleek design, an eye-catching road appearance, and has an aggressive stance as well, which will definitely land you in a situation where you will receive some unwanted attention from the crowd, a big thanks to its rugged design cues from the Scrambler 900 and 1200.
Talking about the overall style, the brand has not compromised with its signature styling from any corner as Scrambler 400 X continues to carry Triumph’s typical design elements, including its signature sculpted fuel tank, timeless Triumph silhouette, and classic engine profile.
Triumph Scrambler 400 X Design Features
The vehicle comes with the proper LED headlight setup, pairing it with LED DRLs with turn indicators. The company also filled the two-wheeler with tonnes of advanced features including 150 mm long-travel suspension at both ends, commanding 835 mm seat height, 195 mm high ground clearance, wide adjustable handlebars, switchable traction control and ABS, slim waist and relaxed Scrambler ergonomics, and whatnot.
In order to put it on the top shelf in the segment, the company has also provided a 19-inch front wheel, longer travel suspension, and wide handlebars, which not only makes it bigger compared to Speed 400, but also provides great stability on loose terrain. However, being bigger does not mean the bike is not a good option for the short-height rider. Anyone with an average height of more than 5’5 would be able to handle the machine with ease.
Triumph Scrambler 400 X Other Speciality
The Scrambler 400 X is equipped with a large analog speedometer and has an integrated LCD screen that includes a digital speedometer, which allows the rider to monitor some important information such as fuel capacity, gear positioning, mileage, RPM, time, and others. To make it more convenient for the customers, the bike also offers a USB-C charging socket, allowing the rider to charge smartphones while on the run.
Triumph Scrambler 400 X Engine
Moving towards the displacement, the Triumph has used its latest TR series engine, featuring a 398.15cc engine that generates a max output of 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm of peak torque, enough to make you crazy with its power. The unit is mated with a 6-speed transmission.
Conclusion
As we mentioned at the start of the article we had ridden Scrambler400X for decent KMs, and there was not a single moment, where bike felt lacking in terms of power. We took this machine on every terrain, and somehow it checked all the points that were mentioned by the company on Paper.
From handling to braking to taking the sharp turn on the corners, the bike gave us enough confidence to go crazy with the throttle. We feel the Scram 400 is perfect for those who are looking for a decent motorcycle that can handle all types of terrain and has some good off-roading capabilities.
Under the price range between 2.63 lakh to 3.0 lakh, the deal is not bad, and definitely worth giving a shot if you are looking for something in 400cc.
