Indian roads are one of the most unsafe roads to drive your car on, and the number of fatal accidents (as per government numbers) prove it all. To promote road safety, every year, from 23rd April to 30th April, Road Safety Week is observed. This year also, a lot of auto manufacturers are celebrating the Road Safety Week 2018 in their earnest way possible. Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL), India's second largest car manufacturer aftr Maruti Suzuki India has also announced pan-India initiatives to observe the Road Safety Week.
Hyundai is celebrating the road safety initiatives by promoting traffic rules and safe driving practices, a rarity in India. Hyundai will provide awareness to its customers at all dealerships through 1300 workshops across India. The initiative will offer 20-point safety check up for Hyundai vehicles at all dealerships. Hyundai will also get in tocuh with the Resident Welfare Associations and residential societies, inviting children for drawing and slogan competition on the Traffic Safety theme.
Hyundai, in the past, inititaed the ‘BeTheBetterGuy’ campaign with brand ambassador Shah Rukh Khan to promote road safety. The campaign recieved rave response on the social media, considering Hyundai has a vast reach on social media platforms. The campaign is aimed to avoid under age driving, don’t drink & drive, avoid usage of mobile phone while driving, over speeding & violation of traffic signal.

Mr. Y K Koo, Managing Director & CEO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said, “We have been working in the area of road safety through our Safe Move campaign since 2015. Road safety knowledge is a key life skill and we want to educate everyone, including children from a very young age, the good road and driving behavior. We are doing multiple activities through our extensive pan India network to engage with communities to make road safety a mass movement. When everyone observes road safety, every drive becomes a brilliant drive."
