Lucknow: A four-seater TB-20 aircraft, of Indira Gandhi National Flight Academy (IGRUA) of Amethi, crashed in the Nizamabad area of the Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh on Monday morning. A trainee pilot named Konark Saran (30), who was flying the aircraft for solo training, died in the crash.
The aircraft reportedly crashed in the fields of Faridinpur village, under Saraimar police station area of Azamgarh district, due to bad weather and lightning at around 11 AM. On hearing the sound of the aircraft’s crash, residents of the village reached the spot and so did the police.
Speaking on the issue, Azamgarh District Magistrate Arun Kumar said, “The crashed plane belonged to Indira Gandhi National Flight Academy (IGRUA) of Amethi. I have also spoken to the DM of Amethi in this regard. Trainee pilot Konark Saran was on a solo flight from Amethi.”

Kumar added, “The Indira Gandhi National Flight Academy has also said that one of their aircraft had flown for Sortee and trainee pilot Konark Saran was solo flying the aircraft TB-20. During this flight, he crashed at the border of Nizamabad and the Saraimir police station area of Azamgarh.”
