We might have witnessed some comfortable victories but there was unquestionably no dearth of entertainment on the latest episode of Friday night SmackDown. This week’s episode of SmackDown opened with the return of legendary WWE performer The Rock aka Dwayne Johnson, accompanied by Pat McAfee. Upon his arrival in the ring, The Rock got engaged in a brief altercation with Austin Theory. The duo pulled each other’s leg for some moments before the SmackDown entered the main segment.
The show also featured John Cena, who made sure to show respect to The Rock. Cena was challenged by Jimmy Uso before Solo Sikoa and AJ Styles joined them in the ring. In the other events, LA Knight took on The Miz, while Asuka got rid of Bayley. Finn Balor and AJ Styles went head-to-head in a singles fight and The Street Profits squared off against LWO.
Finn Balor vs. AJ Styles
AJ Styles had an upper hand initially before Damian Priest made a sudden entry to cause distraction. It helped Finn Balor to take control of the match with a massive dropkick. AJ Styles attempted the Phenomenal Forearm but Balor dodged it and secured a pinfall victory, thanks to a distraction from Uso.
The Street Profits vs. LWO
Rey Mysterio made a sudden appearance on SmackDown to celebrate his little win. That is when Santos Escober came out to challenge him for a championship match. The scenario got worse after Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits showed up to begin a team fight. The Profits claimed a comfortable win with their new finisher, the Revelation.
LA Knight vs. The Miz
Knight pulled off a commendable start with a Neckbreaker which he followed with a power slam. The Miz countered them with the Skull Crushing but Knight managed to dodge. Miz then came up with a running knee but only to receive a rope-assisted codebreaker. Knight finally sealed the deal with the Blunt Force Trauma.
Asuka vs. Bayley:
After exchanging some kicks inside the ring, Asuka and Bayley went outside. Bayley took over the charge after launching the double knees from the top of the rope. She then dropped her opponent on the apron and threw her into the barricades. Shotzi caused a little interference that helped Asuka grab Bayley from behind and pin her to win the match.
