WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins successfully defended his title having defeated Jinder Mahal in the main event of the Monday Night RAW. Despite retaining the belt, all does not seem quite well with Rollins. It has been learnt that ‘The Architect’ endured an injury during the championship bout against Mahal on the latest episode of the RAW. A report published by PWTorch claims that Rollins suffered an injury to his left leg late in the fight with Mahal. Sources confirmed to the outlet that Rollins was helped in the back and eventually put weight on it. The PWTorch article went on to claim that Rollins is walking on his own but with a definite limp.
The outlet, however, could not ascertain when Seth Rollins was injured. Rollins appeared to be bothered as the Monday Night edition of RAW approached its end and he was seen standing on one leg while the match referee awarded him the WWE World Heavyweight title to conclude the episode.
There is still no clarity about the seriousness of the injury and no official word has yet been issued on Seth Rollins’ status. WWE’s plans will certainly be jolted if Rollins’ injury does turn out to be serious. Rollins is rumoured to face CM Punk at WrestleMania. WWE will have to strip Rollins of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship belt if he fails to recover before WrestleMania.
Seth Rollins has been one of WWE’s top performers since becoming the World Heavyweight Champion at the Night of Champions in May last year. The Visionary, however, does not yet have a fight scheduled for this year’s Royal Rumble. This could very well enable him to regain his fitness and be fully prepared for his potential championship fight at WrestleMania.
Back in 2015, Rollins had to deal with a grievous knee injury. In 2017, the 37-year-old suffered another serious knee injury during an in-ring confrontation with Samoa Joe.
In the main event of the Monday Night RAW, Seth Rollins and Jinder Mahal battled for 13 minutes. The title challenger was joined by Indus Sher’s Veer and Sanga to try and defeat Rollins. The title holder still eventually managed to emerge victorious with a sensational performance. Rollins came up with a Stomp to successfully retain the title.
