PM Modi joined world leaders like French President Emmanuel Macron, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, US President Joe Biden and others in wishing the UK royal a quick recovery from cancer.
“During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer. His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties. Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual,” the Buckingham Palace said in a statement on Monday.
Buckingham Palace did not elaborate on what kind of cancer the UK royal was suffering from but said that the UK king shared his cancer diagnosis “to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer”.
Earlier on Monday, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, US President Joe Biden, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and French President Emmanuel Macron wished the UK royal a quick and speedy recovery from the illness.
Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also sent messages of support and said he and his wife are wishing Charles a quick and speedy recovery. “Sara and I send our heartfelt well wishes to King Charles III and our prayers for his good health,” Netanyahu said.
