Watch: Zomato Agent's Moving Gesture Towards Swiggy Delivery Man Deserves Respect

Swiggy and Zomato have become popular names in food delivery, fiercely competing for market dominance. They battle over superior reach, customer satisfaction and innovative strategies, focusing on deals, exclusive delivery partnerships with restaurants and spending heavily on customer acquisition. Despite this intense corporate competition, a viral video on social media suggests that the rivalry might not be as fierce on the ground as it seems.

The video was shared on X (formerly Twitter) demonstrating an unusual aspect of the coin. The video opens with delivery agents from Swiggy and Zomato showing up at the same place at the same time. The woman tells them they were simply judging who could get there first. She then informs them that they arrived at the same moment, with Zomato arriving a few seconds before and contacting her first. The Zomato delivery agent is then offered a Rs 500 reward by the girl.

That’s when the interesting part starts. In a normal case, that would have been a triumph for Zomato; however, the delivery agent instructs the girl to hand the reward to the Swiggy delivery agent.

The reason? The Zomato delivery boy tells the girl that he could arrive earlier since his pick-up location was closer to the drop-off location than the Swiggy delivery man’s. The girl maintains that since he arrived faster, he deserved it nevertheless.

In response, he states that although he is single, the Swiggy delivery guy may be a family man. As the girl proceeds to hand the money to the Swiggy delivery person, he informs the Zomato delivery boy that he should take it instead.

Following some sincere haggling between the two, the girl at last offered the Swiggy delivery agent money.

The video has over 4 lakh views on the social media platform.
