A resident of Chicago, USA, responded quickly to thwart a burglary. Around 3:30 p.m., Jason Williams got a security alert on his phone about a break-in. Jason describes how, upon arriving at his residence, he picked the very first makeshift weapon he could find, which turned out to be a frying pan. Shortly after, he claims the uninvited guest descended the stairs, and an altercation broke out. The entire pursuit was recorded by a security camera and shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
In the video, the suspected burglar is shown being chased off from his doorstep by Jason, who swings a pan furiously to drive him away. The man attempts to escape by running around the back of the house, but eventually turns around and exits through the front. Before he can open the gate to flee, Jason delivers a few hard blows.
When the police finally arrive at the scene, Jason instructs them to apprehend the burglar, which they promptly do.

Here is the video of the burglar being caught: got some good licks inside and the back. Keystone cops theme should be added for laughs. I’m ok. Guys gonna have a headache tomorrow and was taken away by the ambulance. pic.twitter.com/ry1hr89A54— Jason Williams (@Bashido) June 20, 2024
After the cartoon-style pursuit, Williams shared his story on social media, claiming he “almost killed” the alleged thief.

Williams also took a picture of the dented pan and the thief, who appeared to be holding his head as he was being carried into the back of an ambulance.

“At this point, it was fight or flight, and I would rather do the fighting,” Williams told ABC7.
Jason’s chase accumulated more than 1 million views on the social media platform.

The comments section, despite being glad, found the situation hilarious because of the frying pan.
