Rohit Sharma's Hilarious 'Yeh', 'Woh' During Chat With PM Modi Leaves Cricket Fans ROFL
Rohit Sharma fans can't stop laughing after Hitman brings back his classic slangs during chat with PM Modi. Watch his 'Yeh, Woh' clip here.

Team India is riding high on their triumphant return to glory, having finally clinched an ICC trophy by winning the 2024 T20 World Cup against South Africa in Barbados. The victorious squad was warmly welcomed by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg on Thursday. After being stranded in hurricane-hit Barbados, the team touched down in India on Thursday morning via a special Air India flight, accompanied by their families, support staff, board officials, and several journalists. Later that day, Rohit Sharma and his team visited the Prime Minister’s residence.

During a lively chat with PM Modi, captain Rohit, head coach Rahul Dravid, Virat Kohli, and other team members shared their experiences. Rohit humorously explained why he tasted the Barbados pitch after the win, saying, “Vo pitch humare liye bohot yeh tha, matlab vo pitch par humne jo bhi kiya…humne vo pitch par kiya (The pitch was very ‘this’ for me as we did ‘that’ ‘there’).” This sparked laughter among cricket fans familiar with Rohit’s quirky Mumbai slang, where he often uses ‘yeh’ and ‘woh,’ and occasionally loses track of his thoughts mid-sentence.

Even Virat Kohli had previously mentioned this habit of Rohit’s in a chat on ‘Breakfast With Champions,’ where he humorously noted that Rohit often leaves listeners to decipher his cryptic ‘yeh’ and ‘woh’ references.

“Everything is temporary…VO is permanent,” quipped one user on ‘X.’ Another chimed in, “There was character in salman khan’s movies reddy rohit is same as him.” A third commented, “Ye and Woh a never ending love story of Rohit Sharma.” The jokes kept rolling in.

PM Modi also asked Rohit about his distinctive walk to the podium to collect the World Cup trophy during the post-match presentation, which had set social media ablaze. Fans drew comparisons to former WWE star Ric Flair’s iconic strut and Lionel Messi’s walk with the FIFA World Cup trophy. Rohit revealed that his teammates had encouraged him to do something different for the momentous occasion. “It was a huge moment for us, and we had been waiting for it for so long. So the boys told me not to just walk up to the podium and collect the trophy. Do something different,” the Indian captain shared.
