Only In Los Angeles: Indian YouTuber Books Uber, Woman In Mercedes Pulls Up

Cabs are a go-to choice for their unmatched convenience, and booking platforms often elevate the experience with premium options. Recently, Indian YouTuber Ishan Sharma, 21, took to social media to share about his memorable cab ride in Los Angeles, US. After booking a ride through Uber, he was surprised when a sleek, white Mercedes-Benz A-Class arrived to pick him up.

Sharing his experience on X, Ishan posted the photo of the luxurious car parked beside a wide street. “Booked a regular Uber. A Mercedes pulls up! Only in Los Angeles,” he wrote. The Uber driver was a woman with an impressive rating of 4.91 as displayed on Sharma’s app.

“Got her to listen to Punjabi music,” he wrote in a follow-up tweet, sharing a picture featuring Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh’s popular track, Hass Hass, on the car’s music system. He also revealed that he booked the cab for $13 (Rs 1,091).

Since being posted, Sharma’s post gained significant attention, racking up over 1.5 lakh views and sparking a wave of reactions from social media users. Many users chimed in, recounting their own luxury cab experiences in countries like the UAE, Germany and Austria.

One user noted, “Not only in LA, in most of the European cities you get Mercedes,” while another shared, “Most of the cabs in Germany are either BMWs or Mercedes. I say ‘most,’ but honestly, I’ve never seen or used any other cab.”

Someone humourously remarked, “Bro will cry when he realises that Germany has most taxis to be Mercedes and BMW.”

A commenter sharing their experience, wrote, “I once did in Melbourne and a Porsche pulled up.”

The comment section took an interesting turn after an Indian YouTuber based in Dubai, Aditya Gautam, shared his contrasting experience. He posted a photo of a Maruti Swift Dzire he received when he booked an Uber Premium cab in Bengaluru.

“Booked an Uber premier in Bangalore, India,” Aditya Gautam wrote, highlighting the stark difference in luxury levels between cab rides in India and other countries.
