On The Scale Of 1 To 10, Can You Guess How Impressed Anand Mahindra Was With This Robot Janitor?
The cleaning robot was made by Somatic, a robotic cleaning service for commercial buildings.

Anand Mahindra, the chairman of Mahindra Group, recently shared a video that showed a robot cleaning a washroom with utmost detail. Mahindra, who often proposes technical advancement in business, was highly impressed with the robot’s ability to deep clean. This video was first posted on YouTube by Somatic, a company that provides “robotic cleaning service for commercial buildings”. As per Somatic’s website, the company “offers customers a robot which makes cleaning teams more efficient” for a flat monthly fee. While sharing this cleaner robot’s video, Mahindra wrote, “A robot Janitor by Somatic; cleaning bathrooms all by itself? Amazing! As automakers, we are accustomed to using a variety of Robots in our factories. But this application, I admit, is far more important. We need them… NOW.”

The post has gathered over 9,000 likes. Commenting on it, an Instagram user wrote, “Because even robots understand the importance of a spotless bathroom. It’s like having a personal hygiene superhero on wheels.”

Another person wrote, “Absolutely, the potential for robotics in janitorial services is impressive. It’s a step forward in innovation and efficiency. Great to see advancements in this area.”

An X user noted that robots can be used to clean drains and sewage plants instead of common washrooms and wrote, “I think Sir, we need more of these Robotics for clearing the drains and sewage. Those are still done by manual scavenging and pose serious health hazards and are completely inhuman. We need to automate those services urgently.”

Many people also pointed out that introducing automation in the janitorial and housekeeping fields can lead to the loss of jobs. An X user wrote, “Do we really need these in a country like India, where there is so much unemployment across? As a techno enthusiast, it seems good but for the greater good of country I don’t think it’s good…”

This video has gathered over 3.9 lakh likes. Commenting on it, an Instagram user wrote, “Robot just tryna make a living he doesn’t want to be fired ”. Another person wrote, “I thought humans are being fired because of robots. Even robots don’t have job security.”
