People with health issues like high blood pressure, recent fractures, asthma or epilepsy are not allowed to do adventure sports like bungee jumping.

A video of a unique adventure sport called ‘moonlight swing’ is raking in likes on social media. The moonlight swing is a spin on bungee jumping. It involves bungee jumping in complete darkness, except for the natural light of stars and the moon. The element of darkness during the free fall adds to the thrill of bungee jumping. Swinging back and forth in darkness gives a sense of falling into an abyss. Moonlight swing is perfect for those who want to have an extra twist to the usual bungee jumping experience.

A popular X account shared a 10-second clip of a moonlight swing and wrote, “The moonlight swing in Scotland drops you 132ft in total darkness.” This clip now has over 9.6 million views since it was shared on May 10. The video inspired divided reactions as some people expressed excitement, while others expressed fear.

An X user commented, “I am not sure what I am afraid of more – the total dark abyss or the fear of heights.”

Another person wrote, “I just can’t understand any circumstance where a person would want to do this hahaha.”

An X user described moonlight swing as an activity in which “adrenaline meets the unknown.”

Someone else wrote, “Wow, that moonlight swing in Scotland sounds like an exhilarating experience! The idea of free-falling 132ft in total darkness definitely gets the heart racing. It’s amazing how places like that push our boundaries and give us a thrill. It’s important to remember to embrace these adventures mindfully and responsibly, appreciating the beauty of our planet while also taking care of it for future generations to enjoy. Balanced and thoughtful approaches to experiences like these can truly make a difference in how we interact with our environment.”

Everyone should partake in activities like bungee jumping or moonlight swing at least once in a lifetime for an experience. However, a person must meet certain fitness criteria to do these activities. Usually, people with health issues like high blood pressure, recent fractures, asthma, or epilepsy are not allowed to do adventure sports like bungee jumping.

People over 120 kilograms are also deterred from the sport. In many places, one must be at least 14 years old to do bungee jumping. As per Jumpin Heights, an extreme sports facility in Rishikesh, the minimum age to do bungee jumping is 12 years and the maximum age is 45 years old.
