DNA Test Reveals Shocking Truth Decade after Child's Birth Through IVF
Ten years later, the Johnsons decided to undergo a routine family DNA test, only to be shocked by the results: the biological father of their youngest son was not Vanner Johnson.

In a startling discovery that has left a family reeling, a Utah couple who underwent In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) treatment a decade ago has learned through a DNA test that their youngest son is not biologically related to his presumed father. Vanner and Donna Johnson, residents of Salt Lake City, opted for IVF after difficulties conceiving naturally, as reported by Unilad. Their first child arrived without incident, but subsequent attempts were unsuccessful until 2007 when their second son was born through IVF.

Ten years later, the Johnsons decided to undergo a routine family DNA test, only to be shocked by the results: the biological father of their youngest son was not Vanner Johnson. Subsequent tests confirmed the initial findings, revealing that during the IVF process, Donna’s egg had been fertilised with sperm from a donor, not Vanner’s. The family was devastated by the results, admitted Vanner Johnson, saying that the love for their son remains unchanged, but the revelation was emotionally challenging for them.

The couple chose to delay telling their son for a year before revealing the truth. Despite the news, their son handled the revelation maturely. Further investigation by Vanner Johnson revealed the identity of the biological father, identified as a man named Devin. The Johnsons have since navigated the complex emotions surrounding the discovery, emphasising their enduring commitment to their son’s well-being.
