Dale Steyn Getting Bowling Tips From USA Staff Member Is Absolutely Unreal
It might be a hilarious situation for the Proteas great but he chose to keep quiet and let the staff member do his job.

A man in New York had the privilege of teaching Dale Steyn the basics of bowling. Yes, you have heard that right. Steyn, a legendary fast-bowler who has nearly 700 international wickets under his belt, is currently in the USA to cover the ICC T20 World Cup as part of its official expert panel. The South African legend recently paid a visit to a cricket event where a staff member helped him learn how to bowl. The man, supposedly unaware of Steyn’s stature in world cricket, considered him as a normal tourist. In a video going viral on social media, the person was seen giving some valuable bowling tips to Steyn, who was a nightmare for many world-class batters during his heyday.

It might be a hilarious situation for the Proteas great but he chose to keep quiet and let the staff member do his job. The man advised Dale Steyn not to bend his arm while releasing the ball as such action is not allowed in cricket. “Keep in mind to not bend your elbow. It’s a swinging motion going forward… and if you want you can do a little skip,” he was heard saying in the video.

Dale Steyn sincerely listened to the suggestions and also tried to imitate the bowling action of the American. The former speedster then bowled a full toss and seamlessly hit the stumps. That’s when the staff told him that he should target the area in front of the wickets as the ball must make contact with the crease before reaching the batter. “It should have bounced before it hit the ground,” he suggested. Steyn somehow managed to contain his smile and went on to focus on the bowling tips.

The video has gone widely viral, leaving cricket fans in splits. It has already garnered more than 4,50,000 views and over 14,000 likes on Instagram. Highlighting Dale Steyn’s illustrious career, a user commented, “Bro is teaching to bowling god.” “If he doesn’t know Dale Steyn, I don’t think he known cricket either,” wrote a fan. “Bro is adding salt to the sea,” quipped a person.

Dale Steyn represented South Africa in 125 ODIs, 93 Tests and 64 T20Is before taking retirement from all forms of cricket in 2019. He was recognised as one of the fiercest fast bowlers of his generation and had an exceptional ability to swing the ball both ways.
