After ‘Biggest Culture Shock’, Indian YouTuber Gets Room Upgrade At Los Angeles Hotel
Following Ishan's complaints about the service, his hotel, Caesar’s Palace, offered him a much better room.

A day after an Indian YouTuber posted about poor hospitality standards of American hotels, his room was upgraded and he was offered better services. Bengaluru-based YouTuber Ishan Sharma posted on X about the ‘culture shock’ in the US. He claimed that American hotels didn’t fully understand the meaning of hospitality.

Following Ishan’s complaints about the service, his hotel, Caesar’s Palace, offered him a much better room. The Bengaluru man shared glimpses of his upgrade on X where he can be seen seated inside a luxury room. In his post, the content creator wrote, “Thank you Caesar’s Palace for the upgrade. I’m glad you heard me. Really excited for the next few days.” He added another post and wrote, “Staff was really helpful this time.”

Many who followed Ishan’s earlier post calling out the hotel were happy to see him get a better deal.

“This is a great gesture by the hotel!” read a comment.

“Nice one Ishan, hope they also gave you plenty of water. Influencer power works every time,” said another person.

A user, underlining the importance of social media, wrote, “A social media post can have the biggest institutions do a little introspection haha.”

In his earlier post, Ishan wrote, “They just don’t get hospitality. Funny how they ask for tips but won’t even give complementary water,” he said. Speaking further he talked about the hotels he checked in at and said, “I stayed at 3 stars, 4 stars and today 5-star hotel (Caesar’s Palace). Maybe I’m spoilt with Taj Hotels in India.”

Speaking further, he said talked about how American hotels didn’t help visitors with ‘basic’ things. In his post, he wrote, “Basic things like helping with luggage, being accommodating were missing. I check in at 2 am tired from the flight and asked for a glass of water, they say ‘it’s $14.99 for a 200ml bottle, you can buy it.’ And this is a $200 per night hotel!” Enraged by the treatment, the YouTuber said he was quite taken aback by the lack of empathy from these US hotels. “Complete lack of empathy. Unbelievable! Never expected this,” he wrote.

The post has now garnered more than 740,000 views on platforms while attracting the attention of several netizens.
