Pranali Rathod and Harshad Chopda have been speculated to be dating ever since they came together for the Star Plus show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Lately, rumours have also been swirling around claiming that the duo secretly got married. Now, the actress has addressed the claims being made about her personal life involving Harshad while also reacting to the wedding rumours.
Speaking with Times Now, Pranali Rathod revealed that she is not in a relationship with Harshad Chopda adding that they are simply good friends. Emphasising that the wedding rumours are baseless, she said, “I got a lot of calls and DMs for confirmation. Toh nahi koi shaadi nahi ho rahi hai. I am very much single and mera abhi shaadi karne ka koi irada nahi hai (So, no, there is no wedding happening. I am very much single and I have no intention of getting married at the moment).”
Explaining that her parents are aware about her equation with Harshad, Pranali Rathod remarked, “Mom dad also know that there is nothing between us. Fans love us a lot. I love the fact that they make a lot of edits on social media. I completely understand fans’ feelings.”
To give you some background, Pranali Rathod was roped in to play the female lead Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai following Shivangi Joshi’s departure. In the popular show, she portrayed Akshara Goenka, daughter of Naira and Kartik. Soon, her on-screen chemistry with co-star Harshad Chopda started garnering immense love from fans. Hashtags ‘AbhiRa’ and ‘HarShali’ keep trending on social media.
Next up for Pranali Rathor is Durga co-starring Aashay Mishra and Indira Krishnan along with other actors in key roles. Set to air on Colors TV, the show’s first promo was released a few weeks back. The plot, as seen in the promo, revolves around Durga (played by Pranali) who is adopted by a royal family. On the other hand, her childhood friend Anurag (played by Aashay Mishra), plays a royal heir. The duo fall in love growing up together but Paani Bai (played by Indira Krishnan) does not approve of their relationship due to Durga’s background.
Speaking about her upcoming show, Pranali Rathod earlier told ETimes, “As an actor, I’ve always been drawn to strong characters, and the role of Durga has many layers and brings the required intriguing versatility. The show is themed on ambition, tradition, and the clash between societal expectations and matters of the heart.”
